Panda Plant (Kalanchoe tomentosa) - Large
Kalanchoe tomentosa succulents are members of the Crassulaceae family. The name "tomentosus" comes from the Latin word for "felt-like," and this plant is commonly referred to as the panda plant, cat ears, or donkey ears due to its velvety, soft leaves. Its leaves are fleshy, pointed-oval, and arranged in a rosette, with a white-felted texture. Typically, the leaves are grey-green with red or brown dotted edges.
Introduce a unique touch to your indoor garden with the Panda Plant (Kalanchoe tomentosa). This Madagascar-native succulent boasts a manageable height of 50cm, perfect for any indoor space. While it may not flower indoors, the plant's green, purple, or yellow bell-shaped flowers can brighten up your garden between March and June.
Kalanchoe tomentosa is incredibly low maintenance, as it can store water in its leaves and survive dry periods. Only water the succulent when the soil feels dry and be careful not to overwater. Remove any excess water from the saucer under the plant pot to prevent waterlogging. In winter, there is minimal need for watering.
